we are pleased to announce the launch of a new book that will likely be of interest to the universitian community: Hadith studies and Historical philology by Dr.Mohammad Hasan Ahmadi. This book provides a new theory to overcome Hadith analysis difficulties historically and philologically. The subject discussed in the book would be best described as an example for Knowledge Edge in area of Islamic scriptural studies. The Historical Principles in Islamic Hadith Studies-in this work- are divided into three parts and would be discussed within 14 principles. Both Muslims and Christians, share the same difficulties in a methodical way of reading our scriptures. The present work is largely a respond to these difficulties we have in Islamic Scriptures - Hadith specially - structurally and semantically. The present book is meant as a challenge to propose a new solution, at least in part. The concern is only to develop a fruitful method of reading any divine text focusing on Islamic Hadith. This Book challenges the dominant scholarly notion that the Sunnah must be viewed through the Jurisprudence approach and through the Hadith which commonly shaped by the transmitters, proposing instead that the Hadith is best read in light of Historical approach and within Historical principles. The book can fill gaps in Islamic scriptural studies. The book is written for specialists in the Historical Theology field and interests a broader range of Islamic Text researchers. It meanwhile has the potential to be used as a textbook for Students of Qur’an and Hadith studies. The book does not limit to a singular idea although the main theory proposed here – if I am forced to do - are the Theory of Second Level of Arguing (SLA), Theory of Critical Point (CP) and Contrast Formula (CF).

Mohammad Hasan Ahmadi is a faculty member at the University of Tehran. His first book (The Historical Methodology in Qur’anic Studies (2014) has been welcomed by Prof.Sadegh Ayineh Vand and Prof. Angelika Neuwirth, as it honored by Iran National Library and rewarded in Iran .Religious Book of the year
